In a busy working studio environment and using proven commercial photography studio practice, Alan will demonstrate the lighting techniques required to produce a range of quality images for the commercial and advertising markets. Subjects for the in-depth demonstrations will include consumer products, fashion items, glass and shiny metals and will encompass the required visual effects of shadow, reflection, shape and texture that all contribute to the visual impact required for successful commercial and advertising photography.
Delegates will be fully involved in set and subject organisation and should bring their own camera equipment, (but no tripods please), for directed participation during the days activities.
The course is particularly suited to New and Affiliate Members working towards their Licentiate Qualification, students or graduates seeking real world experiences and working photographers from other sectors looking to extend their professional skills towards commercial and advertising photography, and all delegates are encouraged to bring samples of their current and/or experimental work for informal mentoring during the day.
The course is fully supported with course documentation featuring contemporary image lighting techniques and analysis and also includes all day tea, coffee, juice, bottled water and a working buffet lunch.
