The untimely passing of Mark Sykes will leave a massive void amongst his many friends and colleagues indeed within the whole Photographic Industry. Mark was without doubt one of the most creative, innovative and influential image makers of his generation winning countless awards and competitions, in doing so setting the standards to which many of us aspire but few achieve. Always at the leading edge of technical development he was seen quite rightly as the first point of call for knowledge and information. Mark served the Institute in many areas over the years, as a judge, qualifications assessor, mentor and supporter of activities. He will always be remembered for his contribution to INFOT with thought provoking debate and inspirational presentations. A very special, talented man, with strong principles and courage, who will be sadly missed by us all.
