Slovak Photographer Conquers Monaco Again

Bratislava/Monte Carlo, 19.7.2013

Slovak photographer and traveler Filip Kulisev, Master QEP, FBIPP, returned to Monaco with another exhibit at the Galerie des Pecheurs. Filip Kulisev’s latest exhibit, The Wonders of the Amazing Planet follows the success of his 2011 exhibit, which presented the natural wonders and extraordinary animals of our world. The centerpiece of the exhibition was a four-meter-wide panoramatic view of the Monaco Glacier in Spitsbergen, dedicated to the memory of Prince Albert I of Monaco, a famous oceanographer and voyager at the end of the 19th century. The exhibition at the Galerie des Pêcheurs, situated next to the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco, was officialy opened by Prince Albert I’s great-great-grandson, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco, who praised Kulisev‘s work. „Through the beauty and purity of his images, Filip Kulisev gives substance to those treasures we all too often ignore and that may disappear tomorrow as a result of our reprehensible inaction. I am certain it makes significant contribution to alert all people of goodwill to the state of our Earth.“, said Albert II.

Filip Kulisev considered the chance to return to Monaco a great honour. „I´m very proud to be the first among other artists who is able to exhibit my work here in Monaco for the second time, soon after my last exhibit here.“, said Kulisev. Before the exhibit’s official opening, Kulisev and his wife, Zuzana, met privately with Prince Albert II at his palace, where Kulisev gifted Prince Albert II a hand-made photo album, filled with Kulisev’s award-winning nature photographs. The album, placed in a wooden box, is bound in leather with 24 carat gold-leafed pages.

The exhibition was attended by many distinguished guests from Monaco, Paris, London, India, Iceland, and Slovakia. Many of them came to take advantage of the opportunity to meet Filip Kulisev directly. „I was happy to see in Monte Carlo my friend from Iceland, who piloted the plane I used for a very successful photo shooting“, Filip Kulisev said. Thanks to the photographs of the Hvita´s River Bed and it surroundings, Kulisev won first place in one of the most important competitions of professional photographers in the world -- the FEP European Landscape Golden Camera 2012. It also enabled Kulisev to attend the exhibition of the best 151 photographers of the world in Las Vegas.

The Wonders of the Amazing Planet exhibit at Galerie des Pêcheurs in Monaco will be on display until early September. It provides a continuation of the cooperation between Kulisev and the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, which has three priority objectives: to limit climate change; to safeguard biodiversity; and to manage water resources.
