Bursaries
The Chris Stammers Bursary
The Bursary - to support BIPP photographers in the Forensic, Scientific and Architectural fields of work. The bursary can be awarded for the training and development of photographers in the fields of scientific, forensic and architectural photography.
To Apply - an outline business proposal, a cash flow forecast, and details of the areas of support that have been offered (eg, work placements, college courses offered and attended etc.) should be sent to Chris Harper at chris@bipp.com by 1 September each year. Once the Bursary group has met, BIPP will advise the applicant if any funding has been approved.
Chris Stammers FBIPP was a staff photographer for several years with Johnson Matthey before joining the Physics Photographic Department at Oxford University. His passion for image-making and, in particular, architectural commissions, became a significant part of his life. His Fellowship was gained in Architectural photography and his capture of the eclipse of the sun in 1999 continues to be significant in its composition and execution. Chris bequeathed a sum of money to the BIPP and it was felt appropriate to create the Stammers Bursary.
