About Us
The British Institute of Professional Photography supports, trains and qualifies professional photographers. With approximately 3,500 members, the BIPP is the only professional photographic organisation to do so in the U.K. A not-for-profit organisation, continuing professional development (CPD) is at the heart of the organisation. Run by photographers, for photographers, we provide advice and support, along with a programme of training courses, the most respected professional photographic qualifications in the country and a host of regional and national events and seminars.
The Voice of the Profession
BIPP offers world recognised qualifications and training led by the very best photographers, but we also ensure that professional photography retains support at the very highest level. By working with government and industry and bringing attention to issues that affect our photographers, we can ensure that professional photographers cannot be ignored and that our industry has a positive future.
BIPP sits on the British Copyright Council (BCC) and works with a number of organisations and associations, such as Skillset,(the sector skills council for creative media), the British Association of Picture Libraries & Agencies (BAPLA), the Association of Photographers (AOP), the Photo Imaging Council (PIC) and the Federation of European Professional Photographers (FEP) to ensure best business practice and to secure the future of the professional photographic industry.
