To all FEP member associations
Dear colleagues,
This is just to remind you a few details concerning the next round of qualification QEP and master QEP, that will be held in Brussels the next November 30th. As for the Master QEP
The Master QEP are currently only 13 (3 Belgians, 3 Irish, 3 Spanish, 1 French, 1 Czech, 1 English, 1 Dutch), and so far many countries do not have any member holding this prestigious recognition. Is it not time to fill this gap? I remember that to be qualified as a Master QEP, candidates must have obtained the qualification QEP at least the past year or before, and you must submit a series of 20 photographs printed without obligation of format. They can also be (eventually) used the pictures with which it has obtained the qualification QEP.
You can submit along with pictures of the "panel" (not required but is not prohibited) other significant supporting evidence (magazines, publications etc.).. The title of Master does not have specilisations, and photographers can submit 20 photographs of the same specialist category with which it was obtained the QEP or even of a different category, or more categories (for instance if you have the QEP for portrait, you may - so far - enter the Master QEP qualification with other portrait photos or even weddings, reportage, or a personal exhibition etc.). What is essential is that the panel is homogenous, harmonious, and especially gives the exact idea of how good you are! Panels should be mandatory in Brussels, at the usual FEP address, until the day before the qualification starts.
The is an entry fee of Euro 150.00 per candidate, and the FEP will charge you 100 Euros. Make sure all payments payable in advance to your association. Any costs of transport and re-shipment of material are borne by the participants. I urge all those of you interested to spray this informatin within your own members. You can find more information at the new web-site www.europeanphotographers.eu (or the old portal www.fepqep.org ).
As for the QEP
I remember that to enter the qualifying section, QEP candidates must be members of one of the FEP members associacions and in many cases, they must have already obtained a qualification at the national level. This rule regarding the QEP entries is only recommended, and its implementation is left to member associations. I remember that since this session candidsates who wish to submit a panel (12 photographs printed, size 40x50), absolutely must submit images in a special hard briefcase , or even regularly received the images can not be considered. The title of QEP is issued on the basis of the specilisation indicated by the candidate itself.
Photos should be mandatory in Brussels, at the FEP venue, until the day before the meeting. There is an entry fee of Euro 100.00 per each candidate, payable in advance to his/her relevant national association, member of FEP. FEP will charge the association 70 Euros per entry. Any costs of transport and re-shipment of material are borne by the participants. Again, I urge all those of you interested in sprying this information within your membership, and -please - for evident organisation reasons, to let us know how many panels your member will suboit, in a good advance.
Further information are on the new web site www.europeanphotographers.eu and still in the old portal www.fepqep.org In case you want to ask me some other news, I remain available. Best regards,
