Daniela Justus LBIPP is a Brazilian photographer whose photography is influenced by the Brazilian way of life. After working in marketing and management for various big companies in Brazil like Coca Cola and BBM Bank, Daniela went on her first photography course in 2000. She realised that she had a real passion for photography and by 2004 started working as a freelance photographer. In 2005, she founded Babitonga Fotografia, a photography studio in Rio de Janiero specialising in children's portraits.

In 2007, Daniela moved to London. For the first year or so, Daniela worked for a high street studio doing contemporary family portraits. "It was such a great experience in studio photography. I gained confidence and learned how to work with clients." Since September 2008, Daniela has been working as a freelance photographer and she is concentrating on promoting her web site and her first commercial assignments. "My dream is to be a reference in children portraiture and I have just done my first commercial work in this area - the catalogue of a new kids' clothing brand from Rio de Janeiro."
Although Daniela has completed many different photography courses in really good schools, most of them are outside the UK. "So being a qualified member of the BIPP is an important qualification for me. I would say that it was essential. It does give clients more confidence to work with you as the BIPP is reputable professional body."
If you want to become a professional photographer, Daniela's advice is to be persistent and work hard! "Photography is not an easy career and it does require a lot of dedication. It is also really important to specialise. It is easy to try and do everything in photography, but your work will only stand out if you specialise and manage to differentiate your work from the crowd."
