FEP European Professional Photographer of the Year 2009
We are pleased to announce that a number of BIPP members received awards in the recent FEP European Professional Photographer of the Year Awards 2009 with Gerry O'Leary FBIPP being awarded Winner of the Commercial category.

FEP Fine Art Competition 2009 sponsored by
Towergate Camerasure
Marko Dutka FBIPP has received a finalist award in the FEP Fine Art Competition 2009 sponsored by Towergate Camerasure. The FEP European 2009 Awards Exhibition was displayed at the Photo Museum of Antwerp, throughout December and the collection consisted of the top 10 finalists from each category and the top 10 fine art images.

Stammers Bursary

CRB Checks on School Photographers
Following an increase in the number of telephone calls received from members regarding CRB checks on Photographers taking pictures in schools (probably following from the National introduction of the ISA or 'Independent Safeguarding Authority') we have enquired of both CRB and Ofsted for the current position.
CRB have confirmed (verbally and via an article on their website) that self employed individuals (including company directors) cannot apply for CRB clearance for themselves and this is reiterated in the Ofsted guidance as attached.

Police issue new guidelines for anti-terrorist legislation
The Metropolitan Police have issued guidelines as to how they will interpret the anti-terrorist legislation in relation to photographers.

Photo Training Overseas 26 January -2 February 2010
The 23rd annual Photo Training Overseas event will take place at the Hotel Lara Beach, Lara Beach, Antalya, Turkey. The speaker line up has been announced and includes BIPP speakers Bjorn Thomassen FBIPP, Marko Dutka FBIPP, Mike Brookes-Roper ABIPP, Simon John FBIPP and Su Kaye FBIPP.
